It was bound to happen

You know when you hear those stories about other peoples' kids and you heave a mental sigh of relief because your sweet little angel has never done that...

well...

I just got a call from the police department, Nathan called 911. Twice. We had a talk about how you only call that number when there's an emergency and I asked him if he thought there was an emergency.

His response? "Well, my bedroom light burned out."

lol, i'm soo laughing at that! his light bulb burned out. lol for a kid that is an emergency. My cousin called 911 when she was little and told them to "come get the dang dogs out of the road before they get hit." lol. And someone called once when i was doped up on benadryl and no one was in the house and well the police came knocking and saw only me basically passed out on the couch. lol i'm sure he thought i was dead or somethign.

I am just waiting for the day it happens at our house. We will not teach my ds 911 for this purpose, he would call them like 10 times a day.

Yikes! I'd die. When I was 12, my "boyfriend's" younger brother (who was mentally retarded) called 911 and told them there was a "family dispute" going on, because his parents weren't home & his brother & sister were arguing. Fun times!

it's understandable when a kid calls 911 but i still remember when i was a senior in high school and my mom called 911 because our neighbors were burning a pile of leaves in their back yard...

actual conversation with the 911 dispatcher

"hello, this is not an emergency but my neighbor is burning"

"i don't know the number for the fire department"

"no leaves he's burning a pile of leaves and i recall their being a burn ban since this is the dry season and the smoke is coming into our yard..."

lol!
We had that happen A LOT! I'm afraid that if we ever have an emergency, no one will come. We have 911 on the memory button... never do that. When Nicolas was little, he'd always touch that button; a few minutes later the police would call back to see what happened. Well one day he did it, then left the phone off the hook, so when the police kept calling, it was always busy. Needless to say, they came to our house; they were super nice, but had to come in and go through every room to make sure everything was ok! Can I just say EMBARASSING???
